The legendary Ford Bronco is back on the market, after his ending production in 1996. The return of this beast has announced Ford at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit back in 2017, and we are waiting for his appearance.
What it will look like the new Ford Bronco?
Rumors who have surfaced, through Reddit, suggested that the new Ford Bronco will be very similar to the current Ford Everest.” But you certainly remember Everest is a five-door SUV based on the outgoing Ranger platform which is currently located in markets outside of the U.S.
But we’re not sure, will the new Ford Bronco really look like the Ford Everest.
Who is the new Ford Bronco?
Like the Toyota 4Runner, Jeep Wrangler, and many good off-roaders before it, Ford says the new Bronco will be powerful, no-compromise, real, body-on-frame 4×4 built so that it can pass through the most difficult terrain.
This vehicle will offer notable features like solid front and rear axles and an “Air Roof.” Ford explained that it is about “no-compromise midsize 4×4 utility for thrill-seekers who want to leave the city.”
The former Product Development Chief Raj Nair says that the Ford Bronco will share its frame with the Ranger pickup, which made its appearance on the market last year. With the Jeep Wrangler switching over to aluminum for 2018, we think the Bronco will do the same, like the F-150 with a target to keep things light.
Also, Ford intends to build a smaller ‘Bronco Sport, in addition to a Ranger-based Bronco, and we hope that it happens as soon as possible.
What’s hiding under the hood?
We assume, the Ford will put the EcoBoost engine in the bay of the Ford Bronco. But still, the company put one in GT supercar and Raptor off-roader, after all.
A leak from Canadian Tire hints at a 2.3-liter EcoBoost unit, which produces power from 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque in the Ranger, combine with 10-speed automatic transmission.
A real possibility is a hybrid Bronco, as is a rugged Bronco Raptor with a V8 engine.
More details on the new Ford Bronco
From the new Ford Bronco is expected мuch more. The SUV should produce more of 325 hp as well as creating a good amount of torque. Only for remind, the Ranger Raptor produces 369 pound-feet.
We all hope for a new diesel engine, as was introduced in the Ranger, but it is more likely that Ford is drop the more-than-10-year-old Duratorq from its range. One of the transmission options can be and seven-speed manual gearbox.
Where the new Ford Bronco will be made?
Both the Bronco and Ranger will be made at Ford’s plant in Wayne, Michigan, but it is assumed that Australia will be the place where most of the engineering and development unfold, specifically at Ford’s Asia-Pacific Engineering Center in Victoria.
We expect the Ford Bronco to have nearly all of the same (if not more) capabilities, as well as a new Ranger.
How much is the price on Ford Bronco?
Because production will be moved to Michigan and the price of relative competitors like the 4Runner and Wrangler is аround $35,000 and the price of Ford Everest is around $40,000, we assume and the price of new Bronco will be about the same.
Will appear in Spring 2020
The Ford Bronco will appear in the spring of 2020. Ford with video officially confirmed the SUV’s debut what will happen early next year. Details for the little one Bronco Sport are unconfirmed, but we expect he appears sometime in 2020 as well. But we must mention that wait is too long especially for a truck announced in early 2017.
