It is confirmed! 13 years later, long enough Chevrolet Returns the Blazer
The Jeep Grand Cherokee square can be recognized in the Blazer. Chevrolet has revealed, shown the 2019 Blazer which grabs greatly a bit from the Camaro’s success. The Blazer and Chevrolet have a history together. Basically in the late ‘60s it was a pickup truck, and later it became, it was turned into a compact SUV in 1982 and finally in 1995 a mid-size SUV.
Sadly and regrettably by 2005 the sales decreased and Chevrolet killed the production of the Blazer. However now it is brought back from the dead and with a far better appearance. The good thing is that a lot of its design cues can be recognized being the same or ones from Camaro. A standard 2.5-L inline 4-cylinder engine rated for 193hp and 188 lb-ft of torque is under the hood, with an accessible and applicable 3.6-L V6 rated for 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is a nine-speed automatic and of course there are no manuals here.
The start and the stop technology of the engines is smart which turns them off when the power is not necessary and needed (for example when going downhill) Another standard point is the front-wheel-drive and AWD being applicable which also can be switched to FWD with a purpose to save gas. This is originally a five-seater crossover, but there is space enough for two more seats with 64.2 cubic feet.
You can fold flat the second row of seats and behind there is free and usable space for cargo management with rails added and a fence to keep for sliding around whatever you have put and placed there. The rear seats are flexible and adaptable and you can slide them for adding more of passenger’s comfort. A standard rearview camera comes with the RS and Premier trim but if you want adaptable cruise control you should pay extra as for the hands-free tailgate and wireless phone charging.
There are six USB slots around the place and not to mention the fancy driver safety sensors, or the features that assist the driver. How much does it cost?? They haven’t announced the price yet, but we can see and admire the Blazer in early 2019.
